Linda O’Connor is Vera in ‘The Oldest Profession’

Linda O'Connor

Linda (Davis) O’Connor is playing Vera in The Oldest Profession. It’s been a while since Linda did a show with us (Mrs. Peacock in Clue The Musical), and we’re so glad to have her working with us again!

Linda grew up in Indiana, and received her BA in Theatre, Acting and Directing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she also completed some graduate hours in theatre (acting, costuming, and properties). She later studied applied piano at the graduate level with Gail Steward at the University of North Alabama. In addition to all that, she received an Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design through Fairmont State Community College, now known as Pierpont Community College.

She has played quite a few roles for Fairmont State University Masquers and Town and Gown productions, including Woman I in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (which she played first for ACT 2 Theatre), Widow Corney in Oliver!, The Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Abigail Adams in 1776, Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress, Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Aunt Eller in Oklahoma!, and Harper in Far Away.

Linda also loves to direct, having directed James and the Giant Peach and Greater Tuna, both for Fairmont State University’s Town and Gown Productions in Fairmont.

The multi-talented Linda also works part-time as the Costume Shop Manager for FSU Theatre, and has costumed several shows there, including Cinderella, Edward the Second, Anton in Show Business, Farmer’s Market, Our Town (with Bekah Watson), Oliver! (with Carrie Swiger), Oklahoma! (with Jason Noland), The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (with Bekah Watson), and The Boy Friend.

Here’s what she has to say about her role as Vera…
