Audiences are in for a real treat when they hear two outstanding voices in THE LAST FIVE YEARS opening March 1. The show is about a relationship over a five year period from the day the couple meets until the day the marriage has ended. What’s unusual about this show is the way it’s presented. Sarah Nale as Catherine begins the story with the end of the relationship in the the first song of the show, while Dustin Jones as Jamie starts at the beginning of the story with the exuberance and joy of first falling in love. They sing in opposite time lines, meeting at the middle of the show together in the wedding scene.

Two finer voices can not be found for this production. We are so fortunate to have Sarah and Dustin singing this show. Her’s a little more about them.

Sarah M. Nale holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College, a Masters of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory, and is ABD for her Doctorate of Musical Arts from West Virginia University, all in vocal performance. While enrolled in classes at WVU, Sarah functioned as a graduate assistant, conducting and teaching private voice at the collegiate level. Later, she was adjunct faculty for Glenville State College.

Ms. Nale has extensive stage experience in both professional and amateur musical theatre and operatic productions. She is a co-founder of the Vintage Theatre Company’s chamber opera troupe Montani Cantanti and works extensively with the Buckhannon Community Theatre. Most recently, she performed the role of the feisty Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical. Sarah currently functions as the music faculty of the Notre Dame High School Performing Arts Conservatory through Vintage Theatre Company. In addition to her instructional duties, she also music directs their musical theatre productions as well as their show choir, The Shamrocks.

Ms. Nale is a versatile musician, conducting and accompanying in addition to her singing efforts; she accompanies for several concerts and shows through the year. This is the fourth year that Sarah has functioned as the Artistic Director of the Buckhannon Choral Society, organizing and preparing multiple concerts a year. She maintains active voice and piano studios in both Clarksburg and Weston. Sarah been an active church musician for years and is currently the music director for the Weston First Baptist Church of Weston, WV.

Sarah is the daughter of Kenneth and Beth Nale of Bridgeport, WV. She lives in Bridgeport with her husband, Joshua Stubbs (also a busy musician).

Dustin Jones began performing at an early age, and quickly developed a passion for singing and the arts. Dustin performed with many choirs, including his high school choir, the WV All state choir, and Chanticleer Children’s chorus, which he toured Europe with twice. Showing off was always one of his favorite past times, which lead him to be in many talent shows, and he eventually found himself auditioning for plays produced by MCAC (Mountaineer Creative Arts Council). Acting soon became a new passion, and he continued performing through his High School career, and loved every second of it.

Dustin is the son of Jeff and Tina Jones, and grew up West Union, WV. He plans to pursue a career in the theatre, and is currently enrolled in WVU’s Musical Theatre program.
