Stone Touchin’ is a new play, as yet unpublished, by playwright Donald Fidler. The story takes place in a North Carolina Piedmont rural cemetery in 1955 where a young boy named Howard Lee has a unique ability. He is able to touch grave stones and hear the deceased speak their stories and, at times, talk with them. As the living visitors to the cemetery and the dead reveal their secrets, confess frustrations, and ponder tragedies the soul of a small farming community is revealed.
Dr. Fidler was on the faculty of West Virginia University for 25 years where he taught cultural psychiatry. He also has an extensive theatre background having studied acting, writing, music, and directing at the University of NC-Chapel Hill and lighting, dance, and choreography at the Carolina Art School. While he lived in Morgantown, WV he was also the resident playwright for the M.T. Pockets Theatre Company.

Stone Touchin’ will open October 15 at the Friedlander’s Center , 534 West Main Street in Clarksburg, WV. Cost is $10 per seat or you may reserve a table for 8 at $70. Reservations are required if you want to reserve a table. For individuals and smaller groups, reservations are recommended and may be made by emailing act2theatre@gmail.com with your name, number of people, date you will attend, and a phone number so we can call to confirm your reservation.
