Jay Pinkney got involved with the ..Bellhop.. midway through the rehearsal process when his daughter, Lindsay, who is playing Heather, asked him to join in the fun. His role, Agent #5, hadn’t been cast yet.
We weren’t worried that he wouldn’t learn all his lines in time for opening, though. (He was a cryptographer in the Navy, after all).
Jay got his first theatre experience on an island in the Indian Ocean where he was stationed at the time. The play was Rumors, and it’s rumored that he had a great time doing it. As far as we know, What The Bellhop Saw is the first show he’s been in since then. He’s been a great addition to this energetic cast.
A retired 20-year U.S. Navy veteran, Jay currently he works for the US Treasury Department in Bridgeport.
Jay didn’t have any lines to memorize this time, but we hope he’s having a good enough time that he’ll consider coming back for a bigger role with ACT 2 in future production!
